Rally Novice & Advanced:
It's the latest and greatest in dog sports! A new AKC performance event as of January 1, 2005. Use all the skills and communication you and your dog have developed in an organized event. You might even win prizes or earn a title! Rally is low-pressure, lots of fun and a great way to spend time with your dog. The courses cover the specific skills needed to participate in each level of Rally Obedience; participants will hone their skills, learn the rules, and, in general, have a great time! Pre-requisites: Basic Class - all dogs must know basic commands and work on a loose leash. Advanced: Basic Rally class or RN title.

Fun Agility Classes:
One of the fastest growing sports in the United States. Not only fun and healthy for your dog - but for you too! This class is for dogs and handlers who have never tried agility and for started dogs. We'll start running courses at the very first class! All classes will be held indoors at the
Hawthorne
location. This class is great for confidence building and to bond with your dog in a fun atmosphere.

Schutzhund:
The purpose of Schutzhund is to demonstrate the dog's intelligence & utility. It also measures the dog's mental stability, endurance, structural efficiencies, ability to scent, willingness to work, courage, & trainability.
Schutzhund is a German word meaning "protection dog". It refers to a sport that focuses on developing and evaluating those traits in dogs that make them more useful and happier companions to their owners. Schutzhund work concentrates on three parts: Tracking, Obedience and Protection. Many are familiar with the obedience work of the American Kennel Club's affiliates and will recognize the first two parts, tracking and obedience. The Schutzhund standards for the third part, protection work, are similar to those for dogs in police work.
Training will be designed with your dog's individual abilities and your goals in mind. Although we will instruct you based on USA Schutzhund Trial Rules, you need not trial or compete with your dog. Each phase will be instructed by Beth and you can train privately or in group sessions.

Canine Good Citizen Class:
Learn and practice the skills necessary to pass the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen test. This five-week course covers each of the 10 exercises included on the exam, and offers practical advice to help you avoid costly handler errors. The Canine Good Citizen test will be given at the last class.

Pet Assisted Therapy:
Have you ever thought about volunteering with your dog doing Pet Assisted Therapy? This class prepares dog and handler teams to visit chronic and acute care facilities including hospitals, rehabilitation centers and nursing homes.
